Microsoft security update KB2823324
« on: April 12, 2013, 07:18:29 PM »
Just found an article on this. One of the latest security drivers for Win7 (KB2823324) apparently fucks with the OS and can cause a large number of BSOD. This could explain why you are getting those random BSOD lately.

If you google 'KB2823324' you will find a shit load of pages reporting this. Anyway if you have installed this and you don't have any problems it is still recommended to get rid of it.

If it is installed and you haven't experienced and blue screens then follow these steps:
1. go to Control Panel > Programs and Features
2. look on the left sidebar. go to View Installed Updates.
3. search for “KB2823324” (make sure KB is in there, otherwise it won’t be recognized)
4. uninstall it and restart your computer.

If you have installed the update and are getting blue screens then follow these steps:
1. restart your computer by presing the F8 key
2. select Repair Your Computer; select language and log on
3. select System Restore
4. start up your computer normally. doing this should uninstall KB2823324.

Summary: Don't install updates because they are bad.

Take calculated risks. That is quite different from being rash.
