Oooh new patch.
http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Changelog

Couple new towns. Four or five new grenades, including a couple of improvised grenades made from butane cans.

Also this article from a couple weeks ago about the DayZ engines transition to the Enfusion engine.

Still waiting for the zombie nav meshes, 64 bit server architecture and the new shaders, but sounds like they're in the near future.

Well, the devblog doesn't seem to get updated anymore, but there is a new patch.

Tents are in, and dynamic loot respawning is finally also in.

Well they're back to updating the devblog again. The navmeshes, dynamic loot tables are coming pretty soon. New renderer isn't far behind.

They're adding in military bases and redoing the spawn system to actually draw people into the middle of the map. At the moment its totally empty and has killed the game a bit for a few of the people I've spoken too. Generally its been a lot of deathmatch on the eastern coast with very little movement around Cherno, Electro, Starry and North West. They're recognizing that and hoping to change it.

Also temperature is coming with the navmeshes etc in the next patch, so keeping warm and dry.

Basically a lot of the game has shaped up very nicely, and I'm tempted to get back into it. Sadly the critical and ever present problem of not being able to quickly hook up with your mates is still there. Car parts are coming in very soon so cars themselves cant be far behind.

Reading through it I noticed they're adding in art for a "Dime Bag".

Wut.

Wow they actually seem committed to pushing out the devblog every week now. Someone must've gotten in trouble for ignoring it for three months.

Anyway, I think its nav meshes in a few days, they're already out on experimental. Looks like they actually have the art for a truck as well.
Quote
Friends, I am happy to report that we have officially begun working on the art for our first vehicle. Until this point, our working prototype has been an old vehicle from ArmA2 but now, we are working on a brand-new V3S with many of its components (i.e. wheels, doors, etc…) separated into different meshes to work in a similar manner as weapon attachments.”

Also a variety of padlocks and combination locks, and a little further on proper barricading of doors with timber and nails. You can sort of tell Rocket is a big fan of Project Zomboid here.

Anyway, I'll be taking the new patch out for a spin when its final. Hopefully during this week.

So yeah, LOOKS like you'll be able to patch the truck up with different doors and windscreens and shit and it'll look ramshackle as fuck. Good times.
